Agroecology Promotion Programme (APP)
APP Profile_AfrONet
Project Overview
The Agroecology Promotion Programme (APP) is a multi-partner programme promoting agroecology, organic agriculture, ecological organic agriculture and other like-minded approaches as pathways for transforming food and farming systems. The programme is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented across parts of Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, Biovision Africa Trust serves as the lead partner, while AfrONet participates as a subgrantee with a continental mandate to strengthen Africa’s organic movement. Through APP, AfrONet supports stronger networks, policy dialogue, youth and women empowerment, institutional sustainability, research and knowledge sharing, and organic value chain development.
The programme aims to build a stronger, more united and resilient continental organic movement that can engage governments, private sector actors and civil society in advancing the organic agriculture and agroecology agenda in Africa
